It’s Poker Season Again

Hey everyone how is it going ? Good I hope, things around here are going good, have not played much poker in the last 3-4 months. I am just not much of a summer poker player. With the sun shining the kids out of school and it’s my busy time at work I just don’t get out to play much. I don’t even really feel like sitting in front of a computer playing online in the summer so I kinda just shut down my poker playing a use it for a much needed break from poker.

Now it’s poker season again and I am back playing on a regular basis, playing online every day (just not logging as many hands as I would like but still getting play time). I will make the time to get out to some of the poker rooms in the near future. I have plans of hitting rooms all over the state both casino and charity poker rooms, we all know Michigan has plenty of charity poker rooms around, but I guess if you look we have plenty of casino poker rooms also. Back in late September I was at Firekeepers casino, not too bad of a casino I guess but as far as their poker room I am just not sure. I got there at about 7:15 pm on a Saturday, went straight back to the poker room to get on the list and was surprised by how full the list was. Not just for the 1 / 2 game but for all the games. I talked to a few people that had been on the list since 5:00 pm. Well waiting on a list for 2 plus hours is not my thing so I told the wife no poker tonite I will just hang with her as she plays the slots and maybe play some blackjack. We walked around for a bit to check the place out and I noticed that on their blackjack tables the minimum bet was $15, well I like blackjack and can play the game without any issues but I was not looking to play with a min bet of $15 so blackjack was out for me also. So I guess it was a wasted trip down there, the wife won a little bit on slots, enough to pay for our dinner there, so when it was all said and done it was a break even trip money wise, but I did not get to play any poker so I feel it was a loser trip.

Well I guess that’s really about it for right now, but keep an eye out for more post as I log in more poker time online and travel around the state hitting poker rooms. I will keep up with the post to let you know how it’s going on the poker road around Michigan and how online poker is treating me as I really need to start to kick some ass to reach my goal.

So till next time, enjoy your poker and maybe I will see you at your local poker room.
